Ok, it’s time to come clean. I’m a bit of a tea nut! At the last count I had 10 boxes of tea in the cupboard and no, I’m not joking. It’s all herbal and sometimes, you want to switch it up a little, so having a variety for me is key.
As many of you might know, I decided a while ago that caffeine wasn’t for me (some people can handle it more than others, but I’m definitely not one of those people!). I’m now a bit of a herbal tea buff and I dream of getting a blend out there of my own some day. Herbal teas have helped my digestion immensely and I truly believe that I feel calmer and more patient as a result of drinking herbal teas. Even the process of brewing tea is a gorgeous ritual in itself.

While I work on my signature blend , here are five herbal teas for energy, to add more ‘zing’ to your day naturally, minus the caffeine and artificial high:
1) Ginger Tea
Benefits: good for soothing the stomach and for sickness/nausea. Stimulates the mind and circulatory system- love it!
2) Ginseng Tea
Benefits: aids concentration and ‘brain activity’, soothes menstrual problems, helps to boost stamina
Lots of herbalists however recommend taking a little break after a few weeks of drinking Ginseng. Maybe mix it up a little….
3) Peppermint Tea
Benefits: great for feeling uplifted, soothing headaches, clearing sinuses and stomach upset (often used as a remedy for IBS)
(Putting a teaspoon or two of coconut oil into the tea just before drinking is a little trick of mine- it’s not for everyone though!)
4) Lemon Balm Tea
Benefits: acts to restore depleted energy, sooth anxiety and revitalise
5) Rosehip Tea
Benefits: a great source of vitamin C, renowned for its anti-ageing and rejuvenating properties
Now over to you, which herbal teas do you drink and enjoy?
Love and tea time,
